Bobinsana Chocolate Rapé is made with the highest grade fine aroma cacao (Theobroma cacao) variety native to the Ecuadorian Amazon forest, grown in the Chocó region at 700 m.a.s.l. The blend includes the bark of an adult Guaba tree, a Fabaceae pioneering tree rich in calcium and the leaves of Bobinsana or Calliandra angustifolia, a wonderful heart-opening plant native to South America with medicinal properties.

Fifty-year old Cacao Trees

Our Bobinsana Chocolate Rapé is made with cacao pods harvested from the private grove of trees planted by indigenous families over 50 years ago. Once the beans are fermented, dried and roasted, the cocoa butter is removed to work only with the finest dried dark powder.

Guaba (Inga edulis)

The bark of an adult Guaba tree is used as a booster for our Bobinsana Chocolate Rapé. This Fabaceae pioneering tree is popular among many forest animals like toucans and monkeys, who love to feed on the long pods that have a white sweet pulp inside. The bark of the tree contains lots of calcium, making it a great source of rapé ash.

Bobinsana

Bobinsana or Calliandra angustifolia is a water-loving shrubby tree with delicate pink flowers that attract hummingbirds. We harvest the leaves along the banks of the many small creeks in the higher Ecuadorian Amazon basin. Known for its medicinal properties, Bobinsana is a wonderful heart-opening plant whose dark green leaves are great energizers.
