Its leaves are spirally arranged, and its flowers are trumpet shaped that vary in shades from vibrant blue to soft purple with a soft white-yellow to gold centre. The seeds of the plant are in pods that are produced once the plant has reached full maturity. The seeds have a very hard coating, which has to be nicked if the seed is to be used.
