About the Siriano Tribe
The Siriano people are located in the Vaupés region in southern Colombia. They share their territory with several other indigenous tribes, all of whom have distinct cultural practices and worldviews. The Siriano people have a population of fewer than 740 individuals and have integrated snuff rituals into their culture, learned from their neighboring tribes.
About the Samahuma Tree and Flowers
The Samahuma tree or Kapok tree is considered sacred among the local tribes of the Amazon from Colombia to Brazil. It is one of the tallest trees in the jungle and is believed to have medicinal and magical properties. The Siriano people believe in the vibrational wisdom and healing properties of the beautiful, colorful flowers from the forest.
What is Rapé?
Rapé, pronounced ‘ha-pey’, is a traditional snuff used by various indigenous tribes of South America, predominantly from the tribal people of Brazil and Peru. The finely ground powder is blown into each nostril through a bone or bamboo pipe called a ‘Tepi’. Each tribe has its own formula and is ceremoniously prepared by specific members of the tribe. Traditional Rapés contain a blend of ground plants, tree barks, seeds, and ash.
Connecting to the Spirit of Nature
The use of Siriano Samahuma and Flowers Rapé aims to awaken our connection to the spirit of nature while invoking our power to bring about physical and spiritual healing. The snuff is typically made in small batches according to the specific intentions or needs of the person being treated or for ceremonial purposes. These snuffs are powerful and profoundly healing and cleansing on many levels.
Tepi or Kuripe
Traditionally, Rapé is administered through either the Tepi or Kuripe. The ‘Tepi’ applicator is used when one person administers the snuff and another receives it. The ‘Tepi’ is a long blowpipe that connects the nostril of the receiver with the mouth of the blower, who then blows the rapé into the nose of the receiver. The ‘Kuripe’ is for self-application. The V-shaped applicator connects the nostril to the mouth in a way that allows blowing the snuff into the nose.
Opening Body’s Energy Channels
In general, indigenous people believe Rapé facilitates the opening and clearing of the body’s vital energy flow, which facilitates a sense of grounding and connection to the earth. Some believe it liberates physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies from disease. Others suggest that using Rapé opens what is called the third-eye chakra, can decalcify the pineal gland, and clear mental fog and confusion.
Siriano Rapé 125 shares and excels all these properties with its very fine blend. It has the ability to stop negative thought patterns and expand our spiritual awareness. Reconnect with nature and experience the magic of the Amazon jungle with Siriano Samahuma and Flowers Rapé.
